What happens when your car lease ends? Whether you fell in love with your Toyota or you can't wait to move on to a different model, you've got options. This short guide will help you navigate the end-of-lease period at Fox Toyota and prepare you for what's next.
As you near the 90-day mark before the end of your lease contract, it's a good idea to review your options and what you want to do.
Option 1: Keep the car
One option is to simply return your Toyota and then lease or purchase a new one. At Fox Toyota, we have a wide array of new and used Toyota vehicles that can suit your needs. If there's a Toyota model you think you would like better than your current one, we can arrange for you to return your car and drive home in a new one on the same day.
Option 2: Return the car
Another option is to keep the Toyota RAV4, 4Runner, or other vehicle. If you simply can't part with your Toyota, you don't have to! As the current lessee, you get first dibs on buying out your car when the lease term ends. Our finance department will work with you to help you pay for or finance the remaining cost of your leased Toyota, as outlined in the lease contract.
Preparing the lease for return
If you choose to return your lease, it's a good idea to prepare it just as you would to sell or trade the car. Return the car in poor condition could result in a fee. Schedule your free vehicle inspection 60 days before you're due to return your Toyota. About a week before it's due, give us a call to schedule an appointment to return it. And when it's time to say goodbye, make sure to remove all personal belongings from the vehicle.
